Description

The Boston chapter of Spanish Scientists in the USA (ECUSA, Españoles Científicos in the USA) in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes at Harvard University, is pleased to invite you to a special workshop, “The Art Scientific Storytelling,” which will take place at Instituto Cervantes at Harvard University (2 Arrow Street 4th fl. #430, Cambridge, MA 02138) on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This program has been made possible in part thanks to the generous support of Fundación Ramón Areces and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology.

Our speaker is Dr. Rafael E. Luna, the author of The Art of Scientific Storytelling, CEO of Luna Scientific Storytelling LLC, and Instructor in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School.

Pitching the 'So What?' of science is imperative to the success of anyone pursuing a science-related career or specializing in the field of technology communications. This free public, interactive workshop will provide instruction on how to adapt the structural aspects of a story—dramatic arc—and the elements of narrative craft to effectively communicate and pitch research findings, novel technologies and inventions. The program is open to professionals and members of the general public with either an understanding of science or an interest in science and technology communications.

Registration is required. Please click "Register" (above) to sign up. The program will be in English and refreshments will be served.

We look forward to seeing you!
